« Nous pourrions commencer par une fiction sur la préhistoire. Purs fantasmes ? Mauvais rêves ! » C’est ainsi, entre boutade, défi et joyeuse provoc, que Latifa Laâbissi trace les pistes de travail de son Histoire par celui qui la raconte. Piqué dans les Histoires du cinéma de Jean-Luc Godard, le titre semble suggérer une tentative narrative, où se mêleraient fiction et autofiction tout en déconstruisant les lignes historiographiques sagement posées. Après son solo Self portrait camouflage (2006), bigrement acide sur la France coloniale, la chorégraphe explore aujourd’hui les perceptions communes de la préhistoire et fouille les représentations collectives. Loin pourtant de verser dans un précis scientifique, elle cherche plutôt par improvisations et tresse ensemble récit historique, références anthropologiques ou évocations cinématographiques. « C’est le corps imaginaire, le corps apotropaïque qui m’intéresse » explique-t-elle.
