Difficile de ne pas tomber d’accord sur cet artiste, qui soulève les grandes salles et percute les esprits. La Villette et le Théâtre de la Ville ne pouvaient pas mieux s’entendre, puisqu’il s’agit de la Première mondiale du chorégraphe chouchou des scènes internationales, jusqu’à Avignon en 2015 lorsqu’il électrisa La Fabrica pendant le festival. Le chorégraphe a développé une écriture basée sur l’impact, sur l’énergie débridée, qui s’exprime paradoxalement dans une forme extrêmement écrite. Le tout repose à la fois sur une grande physicalité, mais aussi sur des effets de lumière et de son, que l’on retrouve notamment dans l’attachement du chorégraphe aux percussions… Dans cette nouvelle pièce, pas moins de seize danseurs et musiciens se partageront le plateau, conjuguant au pluriel les mélodies juives aux accents du rock, sans complexe aucun pour convoquer le traditionnel, le folklorique ou le populaire dans une création contemporaine.
