SOLISTES ET ORCHESTRE / CITÉ DE LA MUSIQUE
La musique d’Henri Dutilleux (1916-2013) s’est depuis longtemps invitée dans le grand répertoire, tant des solistes que des orchestres. Chacune de ses œuvres est comme un cadeau, toujours très personnel, offert aux musiciens qui la lui avaient commandée. C’est ainsi que Mstislav Rostropovitch n’a cessé de chérir et de présenter à travers le monde le concerto Tout un monde lointain…, dès sa création en 1970. Les générations successives de violoncellistes s’en sont depuis emparé. Gautier Capuçon en est ce mois-ci le soliste aux côtés de l’orchestre Les Siècles de François-Xavier Roth, à Paris et au Blanc-Mesnil, qui programme également Métaboles, cinq pièces pour orchestre commandées par George Szell pour l’Orchestre de Cleveland en 1965, et la Cinquième Symphonie de Beethoven. La musique d’Henri Dutilleux s’inscrit tout naturellement dans ce voisinage classique. Les Siècles jouent d’ailleurs une rare pièce pour orchestre « sans violon » de 2000, Muss es sein ? (« doit-il en être ainsi ? »), dont le titre renvoie à l’interrogation portée par Beethoven au seuil de son ultime quatuor. À (re)découvrir également, toujours à la Cité de la musique, le quatuor Ainsi la nuit, l’étonnant Mystère de l’instant, Slava’s Fanfare et quelques mélodies, toutes œuvres accolées au répertoire, de Brahms à Fauré et de Berlioz à Debussy.
