Difficile de mesurer véritablement l’impact qui fut et reste celui de l’immense chanteuse égyptienne dans le monde arabe… La Diva absolue que fut Oum Kalthoum, dont on célèbre le quarantième anniversaire de la disparition le 3 février 1975, est saluée ici par une nouvelle génération de musiciens : le trompettiste libanais Ibrahim Maaloouf, la chanteuse et oudiste syrienne Waed Bouhassoun et la tunisienne Ghalia Benali dont la voix livre une vision intimiste des chansons mythiques de celle que l’on présentait parfois comme la quatrième pyramide d’Egypte. Quelques jours plus tard, la chanteuse Camilia Jordana et le comédien Clément Hervieu-Léger, accompagnés par Donia Berriri au piano, évoquent la complicité et l’amitié qui lièrent Piaf et Jean Cocteau, à travers des chansons évidemment, mais aussi des lectures de textes écrits par Cocteau pour la chanteuse, tandis que de leur côté Richard Galliano (accordéon) et Sylvain Luc (guitare) convoquent le souvenir de Django ou de Gus Viseur pour faire chanter dans leurs instruments un Blues de Paris cher à la Môme Piaf, dans des reprises de ses grands classiques, de La vie en rose à L’Hymne à l’amour.
