Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles / opéra rock d’Alec Mansion
Désireux de montrer la fécondité du vivier belge des talents naissants, la production de Hopes a recruté les membres de sa troupe via un webcasting. Neuf semaines pour poster une vidéo sur la plateforme de recrutement et un mois de casting live ont permis de choisir treize chanteurs et huit danseurs : les élus de l’espoir ! L’histoire qu’ils interprètent sur scène met en abyme leur propre parcours : deux jeunes artistes au quotidien de bohême parcimonieuse ne parviennent pas à vivre de leur musique ; ils sont appâtés par une télé réalité qui leur promet un emploi et la gloire s’ils réussissent un casting. « Hopes c’est l’audace de croire en sa différence et de la foi en soi », avec des refrains accrocheurs, et les interventions théâtrales d’un conteur fou qui mène l’intrigue. Le résultat se veut aussi inhabituel qu’original, en phase avec l’époque, ses rêves et ses difficultés.
