CONTEMPORAIN / MAISON DE LA RADIO
Véritable révolution esthétique, la musique spectrale, qui part de l’exploration de la « vie intérieure du son », continue d’alimenter une création foisonnante. Ses inventeurs, les deux compositeurs programmés aujourd’hui mais aussi Michaël Levinas ou Gérard Grisey (disparu en 1998), ont depuis quatre décennies fait évoluer les questions liées au timbre, à la forme, à l’articulation musicale. Si Tristan Murail, dans Le Désenchantement du monde (2012), emprunte une forme établie (un « concerto symphonique pour piano et orchestre » d’un seul tenant), il y fait se confronter, selon l’avis de la critique, l’énergie et l’immobilité. La musique d’Hugues Dufourt poursuit la quête d’une « synthèse sonore absolue ». Deux de ses œuvres les plus récentes – Voyage par-delà les fleuves et les monts (2010), Burning Bright (2014) – sont des chefs-d’œuvre d’enchantement sonore. C’est peu de dire que cette nouvelle partition pour orchestre est très attendue.
