« J’allai à la maison mais sans y entrer… ». C’est aux seuils d’un récit à jamais suspendu dans sa course que vague la dernière création d’Heiner Goebbels. Dans ce concert scénique en trois tableaux et un interlude, créé pour et avec le Hillliard Ensemble, le compositeur allemand file ensemble quatre textes d’auteurs qui ont exploré, chacun à leur manière, la narration, le langage et l’identité aux limites : T. S. Eliot, Blanchot, Kafka et Beckett. « J’ai cherché à ne pas imposer d’idées musicales spécifiques ou préconçues aux merveilleux textes d’Eliot et de Beckett, dont la musicalité différente justement m’a fasciné. J’ai au contraire essayé d’extraire la musique de l’analyse des rythmes visibles et cachés, des pauses, des mélodies de la langue et de sa richesse formelle. La musique, la trouver là, ne pas l’inventer. » explique Heiner Goebbels. En scène, les chanteurs du célèbre quatuor unissent leurs voix jusqu’à donner vie à cet incertain multiple de l’être qui sans cesse s’échappe du récit et se retranche dans son mystère ultime.
