Œuvre emblématique du répertoire pour percussions, Pléïades de Iannis Xenakis fut à l’origine destinée à la danse – commandée pour le Ballet du Rhin. Les Percussions de Strasbourg, dédicataires de l’œuvre qu’ils avaient créée en 1979, ont choisi de lui redonner sa dimension chorégraphique pour commémorer le dixième anniversaire de la disparition du compositeur. Alban Richard, chorégraphe très impliqué dans la recherche d’une écriture musicale contemporaine pour la danse, a conçu son travail en étroite collaboration avec les musiciens et l’éclairagiste Valérie Sigward. Autre hommage, celui rendu à John Cage (1912-1992) par la chorégraphe Olivia Grandville et le percussionniste Lê Quan Ninh autour de Ryôanji, œuvre inspirée par le célèbre jardin zen de Kyoto.
