Former les jeunes voix au métier de l’opéra, tel est le but de l’Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Paris. Dirigée par Christian Schirm, cette structure, fondée en 2005, accueille des chanteurs du monde entier, qui se produisent au cours de la saison dans différents spectacles. En décembre dernier, nous les avions ainsi entendus au Théâtre de l’Athénée dans un cycle passionnant consacré aux mélodies de Messiaen. Ce mois-ci, la « promotion » participe à une nouvelle production d’Il matrimonio segreto (Le Mariage secret), « melodramma giocoso » de Domenico Cimarosa, créé en 1792. « Toutes les disciplines liées à l’art de la scène font partie de la formation, rappelle Christian Schirm. La profession d’artiste lyrique exige aujourd’hui non seulement une maîtrise du chant, mais aussi un engagement total dans une équipe au service d’un projet musical et théâtral. » On retrouve à la mise en scène Marc Paquien, déjà à l’affiche avec l’Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Paris pour Les Aveugles de Xavier Dayer. C’est le chef hollandais Antony Hermus qui dirigera l’Orchestre Atelier OstinatO, également composé de jeunes musiciens en voie de professionnalisation. Cette production s’inscrit par ailleurs dans le cadre de l’opération « Opéra hors les murs », consistant à donner des spectacles de l’Opéra de Paris en banlieue, en l’occurrence à la MC 93 de Bobigny. Pas d’inquiétude : l’Opéra de Paris ne va pas tenter de s’implanter dans ce théâtre comme cela avait été envisagé avec la Comédie-Française. Il s’agit seulement de donner accès à l’art lyrique au public francilien, une mission salutaire entreprise par le directeur de l’Opéra de Paris, Gérard Mortier.
