L’aveuglement et la surdité des pouvoirs publics s’appuient – c’est une amère évidence de le rappeler – sur une volonté politique de relégation et d’effacement de ceux qu’on ne veut ni voir ni entendre. Christine Citti a passé du temps avec des mineur en foyer d’accueil d’urgence et essayé de leur donner les moyens d’exprimer leurs vies bouleversées. Avec une modestie qui l’honore, elle avoue la difficulté de cet engagement dans le texte qu’elle a écrit : « tous les personnages sont dépassés par la situation, les encadrants sont réduits à du bricolage social, chacun cherche à s’en sortir du mieux qu’il peut. » A l’issue de ce travail, elle tente de restituer la langue et la réalité sociale de ces jeunes malmenés et brutalisés, « loin des caricatures et sans angélisme aucun ». Jean-Louis Martinelli, qui réaffirme sa volonté de « donner la parole à ceux que l’on n’entend pas assez », met en scène ce texte en forme de « brûlante chorale » qui dit l’irrépressible espoir de gagner de ceux qui partent vaincus.
