Décidons-nous vraiment en toute conscience de ce que nous choisissons ? Pas sûr… C’est ce que démontre Thierry Collet au cours d’expériences aussi ludiques que troublantes. Féru de psychologie cognitive, expert en statistiques et mentaliste, le comédien s’introduit dans les pensées et les souvenirs, prédit les choix, influe sur les comportements et les décisions. Hypnose ? Tour de magie ? Manipulation psychologique ? Suggestion ? Sans doute un savant mélange de ces techniques, les mêmes qu’utilisent les médias, les publicitaires et les politiques pour convaincre. « Je travaille depuis plus de quinze ans à renouveler les codes, l’esthétique et la dramaturgie de la magie, pour en faire un art en prise avec les problématiques humaines, sociales, morales, politiques et esthétiques de mon époque : une magie contemporaine. » raconte Thierry Collet. Dans un jeu permanent entre la salle et le plateau, l’étrange conférencier sollicite ainsi des candidats et les soumet à toutes sortes de tests, physiques ou divinatoires… détournant l’art du mentalisme, habituellement utilisé pour endormir la méfiance et le jugement critique, pour au contraire réveiller la liberté de penser.
