Imaginez un flipper géant… Les flips remontés à bloc, les bumpers aux aguets, les rampes bien dégagées… Et c’est parti ! Des corps farfelus se mettent à fuser en tous sens, jaillissant d’une bascule à l’autre, sautant d’un trampoline sur une plateforme pour rebondir encore ailleurs ! Ces drôles d’olibrius, lancés à fond dans un jeu de billes déluré, en font voir de toutes les frayeurs, et pas des tristes ! Rassemblés à l’instigation de Socrate Minier-Matsakis, « porteur idéologique du projet », et Sylvain Briani Colin, tous deux issus du Centre national des arts du cirque, les six acrobates voltigeurs ont mené plusieurs laboratoires de recherche pour explorer les multiples combinaisons de la bascule coréenne. « Avant d’être un agrès de cirque, la bascule était à la fois un jeu dans les jardins d’enfants en Europe, et un jeu traditionnel coréen dans la région de Manchourie. Bref, depuis toujours et partout, la bascule est un jeu. » rappellent-ils. Un jeu qui suppose confiance et écoute pour atteindre son rythme maximal… Sur scène, poussés par le metteur en scène Dominique Bettenfeld, ils s’en donnent à cœur joie, enfilant les figures en costards pétards dans une ambiance kitsch Glam-rock. Comme quoi, on peut marier risque et dérision.
