MUSIQUE SACRÉE / LA SEINE MUSICALE
Incontournable dans la programmation musicale du temps de l’avent, le Messie de Haendel est tout empreint d’une vivacité rayonnante qui culmine dans l’Alleluia qui conclut la deuxième des trois parties de l’oratorio, sans doute l’une des pages les plus célèbres de toute la musique européenne. Construit tel un opéra, le livret de Charles Jennens puise aux sources bibliques (Ancien Testament, psaumes, Évangiles…) une contemplation de la vie du Christ, portée par une musique imagée. Laurence Equilbey s’entoure d’un quatuor de solistes de premier plan (la soprano Sandrine Piau, le contre-ténor Paul-Antoine Bénos-Djian, le ténor Stuart Jackson et la basse Alex Rosen), mais ce sont ici les très nombreuses interventions du chœur qui structurent l’ouvrage. Ce sont bien sûr les chanteurs d’Accentus qui se joignent ici à l’Insula Orchestra.
Bach en regard de Zelenka
Autre grand classique associé au temps de Noël, le Magnificat de Bach est confié à l’énergique Václav Luks, fondateur des choeur et orchestre Collegium 1704, référence tchèque pour le répertoire baroque. Le chef le met en regard de la Missa Corporis Domini en ut majeur de Jan Dismas Zelenka, contemporain de Bach, qui ne cachait pas son admiration et son amitié pour ce maître de l’harmonie et du contrepoint.
