Le conte sans fée mais avec monstre retrace le périple de deux amoureux, musiciens, qui décident de rompre avec la société dans laquelle ils vivent. Lui est plutôt axé sur la réussite, elle sur la vérité de l’art. Il fuient, et se retrouvent sur une île inconnue, au pied du lugubre château de Marbre Bleu. Ils découvrent alors le peuple caché, peuple de musiciens, et la Bête, artiste en panne d’inspiration qui vit avec la Reine et tente de séduire Isabelle par la musique. Quatre comédiens interprètent les deux couples, l’un plus jeune que l’autre. Rite initiatique menant à la découverte de la beauté de l’art, questionnement menant à la connaissance de soi et la recherche du bonheur, la pièce mêle diverses problématiques et donne à voir et entendre au cœur de son avancée le geste pictural, la musique et le chant, dans une mise en scène inventive flirtant avec le surréalisme.
