« N’importe quel imbécile peut fermer l’œil mais qui sait ce que voit l’autruche dans le sable » : cet extrait sibyllin du Murphy de Samuel Beckett inspire le titre et l’ambiance du spectacle tout en délicatesse et en drôlerie qu’imagine Isabelle Martinez autour de l’œuvre du grand dramaturge. La comédienne-manipulatrice campe un personnage qui ressemble à Estragon et Vladimir, et l’on retrouve autour d’elle Winnie et Willie, Molloy, « une autruche, à peine, et un chat, sans doute », fabriqués avec Charles Rios. « Le langage est réduit à son minimum, la drôlerie des situations nous offrent des univers visuels qui mettent en jeu des personnages confrontés, chacun à leur manière, à la difficulté d’exister. » Les protagonistes de cette fable dans le sable « ont des corps absurdes, des obsessions bizarres et un courage à toute épreuve » et offrent à petits et grands de découvrir un univers où l’absurde accouche du rêve.
