Déjà remarqué dans le sillage du chanteur Néry ou du rappeur-slammer D’ de Kabal, Issam Krimi est avant tout un leader développant un projet musical personnel, fruit de ses rencontres « improvisées » (Andy Emler, Vincent Coutois, Le Sacre du Tympan, Benoit Delbecq…) et de sa formation classique (piano et musicologie). Antoine Hervé ne s’y est pas trompé et a produit son premier album (le trio IKT) et les observateurs les plus avisés du jazz français contemporain guettent le prochain enregistrement de sa nouvelle formation Entresilences (avec Alban Darche). Il y a quelques semaines, seul face à son piano, Issam Krimi créait la surprise et impressionnait le public de l’Archipel en revisitant le répertoire de Barbara. Krimi reprend, en la prolongeant, cette formule au service de l’univers hautement musical et inspiré de la Dame en noir. Poète et savant (variations timbrales, contrepoint improvisé, jeux harmoniques, polyrythmie, etc…), entre écrit et improvisation, Issam Krimi nous emmène ici dans un magnifique parcours sensible et subtil…
