Attention : rencontre avec un pianiste rare ! Né à Prague en 1930, Moravec est un artiste « à part », d’une exceptionnelle profondeur et intégrité face à la musique. C’est en écoutant, dans sa jeunesse pragoise, Arturo Benedetti-Michelangeli en récital, qui deviendra ensuite son professeur en 1957 et 1958, qu’il a la révélation de son destin musical. Et que s’esquisse déjà un art musical fait de demi-teintes, d’introspection, de fascination pour le son, de connaissance intime de la mécanique du piano, de mysticisme aussi… Célèbre dans le monde entier, le public français le découvre sur le tard. Debussy et Chopin sont pourtant ses deux compositeurs de prédilection. « J’ai joué et enregistré le "Children’s Corner" étant enfant et cela m’a permis de m’ouvrir au monde de Debussy. Sa musique et celle de Chopin sont devenues mes préférées » confie-til en se souvenant de ses débuts. On retrouve avec bonheur ces deux compositeurs au programme de ce récital avec Les sons et les parfums tournent dans l’air du soir (extrait du Premier livre des Préludes) et Children’s corner de Debussy, puis les Ballades n° 1 et n° 4 de Chopin. De grands moments en perspective… Au même programme : les Scènes d’enfants de Schumann et la Sonate pour piano n° 23 «Appassionata» de Beethoven.
