« Bâtisseurs de nuages est un projet reposant sur la filiation entre un auteur mort et un auteur vivant, le second déconstruisant l’œuvre du premier dans la perspective d’une refondation. Christophe Pellet se réapproprie Ibsen et écrit Une Nuit dans la montagne en continuité avec Quand nous nous réveillerons d’entre les morts. Le projet a été conçu pour monter la pièce de Christophe Pellet, œuvre contemporaine s’inspirant d’une source classique. Ces deux strates se retrouvent d’ailleurs dans l’écriture de Pellet, de forme extrêmement classique, pleine d’images littéraires et cinématographiques, et pourtant nourrie de notre époque : Pellet est un auteur qui puise ses textes dans la vie. Quand nous nous réveillerons d’entre les morts est autobiographique : Ibsen y raconte comment dans sa vie de bourgeois, il n’a vécu des aventures que dans l’écriture. De la même façon, dans Une Nuit dans la montagne, Pellet dessine son autoportrait à travers cinq comédiennes et un comédien. Les deux œuvres évoquent le travail de la pensée en l’homme, ce mouvement intérieur que le comportement ou la création rendent visible. Pellet, racontant ainsi sa propre filiation avec Ibsen, explore comment une vie peut se communiquer à une autre pour qu’en ressorte une œuvre.
Œuvrer à vivre et vivre à œuvrer
Vit-on dans la vie ou vit-on dans l’art ? Ce thème, que Proust évoque dans De la Lecture où il dit arriver mieux à vivre avec les personnages de ses lectures qui vivent en lui de manière fracassante qu’avec ses semblables, m’intéresse beaucoup et est au centre du projet Bâtisseurs de nuages. J’ai mis en scène les deux pièces de ce diptyque de manière assez différente. J’ai plutôt monté Ibsen comme un matériau en mouvement amenant des idées, un matériau d’influence. La pièce de Pellet, qui est le matériau qui surgit de la pièce d’Ibsen, je veux la monter de façon plus détendue et plus simple. Dominique Jacquet chemine elle aussi entre les deux pièces puisqu’elle est Irène dans la première et Sylvana dans la seconde. Sa présence scénique est aussi un élément de continuité entre ces pièces qui constituent un projet que nous avons créé ensemble et qu’elle porte avec passion. Elle est à l’image de ces femmes qui se battent et auxquelles Christophe Pellet rend hommage. Que ce spectacle soit accueilli au Théâtre du Soleil, chez Ariane Mnouchkine, est aussi un hommage au souffle de ce combat des femmes qui luttent pour être reconnues dans la société et dans l’art. »
