Pourquoi avoir choisi de monter ensemble ces trois pièces ?
Jacques David : Avec Variations intimes, je veux offrir au public un parcours dans l’intimité de l’individu qui permette d’offrir une lecture des événements politiques et sociaux. Le binôme artistique que nous formons avec Dominique Jacquet trouve sa connivence à ce niveau-là : en trifouillant les événements sociaux et psychologiques. C’est pourquoi j’ai choisi Lars Norén et Philippe Minyana. Minyana dit de lui-même qu’il est un auteur de terrain. De même, le Riks Drama de Norén a pour vocation d’explorer le monde hors des scènes théâtrales. Ces deux auteurs évoquent des drames intimes à travers lesquels résonne la société. Mon objectif est de faire un théâtre politique, c’est-à-dire un théâtre qui pose des questions. Le jeu du théâtre est d’être sur la scène sociale et politique. A la suite de mon dernier projet, j’ai éprouvé le besoin de parler de moi-même, et notamment de mettre à jour que j’ai été exclu de l’Education Nationale à quatorze ans, car j’étais dyslexique. En décidant de parler de ça, j’ai rencontré ces auteurs que je connaissais. On a beau connaître des auteurs, tant que quelque chose ne s’est pas révélé à la lecture de leurs œuvres, on les croise sans les rencontrer.

Le 20 novembre rencontre donc votre propre intimité…
J. D. : Evidemment, ce texte résonne énormément pour moi. C’est l’histoire d’un jeune collégien, mal à l’école, qui décide de s’armer et d’aller détruire ses camarades et ses professeurs. Le texte de Norén reprend un fait divers authentique mais Norén ne se contente pas de l’anecdote : il place les faits en face de la société, et questionne : comment ce jeune n’a-t-il pas réussi à dire son malaise et comment s’y est-il enfermé ? J’ai moi-même profondément ressenti cette haine de l’institution scolaire et je suis vraiment en phase avec cette pièce. Jusqu’alors, elle a été montée de façon assez vindicative, y compris par Lars Norén. Or, je n’ai pas envie de cela. Je veux que ce qui est dit soit porté sans agressivité. Peut-être parce que j’ai moi-même appris à écrire, à parler et à jouer cette colère…
Pourquoi choisir plusieurs lieux pour jouer ces trois pièces ?
J. D. : Mon ambition est de présenter Le 20 novembre dans une salle de classe. Anne-Marie se jouera dans un théâtre, et La Petite dans la forêt profonde dans un espace atypique, un appartement ou le bar d’un théâtre. Ce qui m’intéresse, c’est le déplacement, le mouvement des choses, de l’intimité vers le social. Minyana et Norén sont des auteurs qui se déplacent, qui déplacent leur écriture de l’intime au social. C’est pourquoi je veux aussi déplacer le public dans des lieux de vérité pour entendre une fiction.
