« J’ai pris mon père sur mes épaules est comme une grande saga épique qui nous plonge dans la vie d’un quartier populaire. Au sein d’un même immeuble, se côtoient différents personnages dont les vies s’organisent autour du destin d’un homme atteint par un cancer. Cette pièce résonne très fort en moi. Et je crois qu’elle résonnera en chaque spectateur selon sa propre histoire : enfant de l’immigration, personne ayant souffert de la désindustrialisation, de la difficulté à trouver un logement, un travail…
Se sortir du marasme du monde
Toutes ces questions sont ici soulevées avec un humour incroyable. La force de Fabrice Melquiot est de réussir à nous faire passer du rire aux larmes en faisant naître des personnages traversés par de grandes pulsions de vie. Ce ne sont pas des êtres qui s’appesantissent sur les difficultés de l’existence. Ils cherchent en permanence à rebondir, à se sortir du marasme du monde. Bien que traitant de milieux défavorisés, cette pièce échappe totalement au pathos et à la condescendance. Je trouve cette façon lumineuse d’aborder de tels sujets extrêmement réjouissante. »
