A priori, une pièce de théâtre – documentaire qui plus est – sur une société productrice d’électricité canadienne, ce n’est pas le projet le plus accrocheur qui soit, surtout quand la représentation dure près de quatre heures. Pourtant, depuis sa création en 2017, ce spectacle de Christine Beaulieu connaît un grand succès et a été couronné du Prix du meilleur spectacle 2016-2017 de l’Association québécoise des critiques de théâtre. C’est que la jeune femme, en réalisant une enquête auprès d’Hydro-Québec et d’une centaine de personnes (politiciens, ouvriers, scientifiques, syndicalistes…) pour comprendre pourquoi le lien entre cette société et les Québécois s’est effrité, se fait l’interprète des citoyens et aborde des enjeux de société essentiels. Une aventure théâtrale captivante où même les questions complexes liées à l’écologie, l’économie et les surplus de production deviennent abordables voire ludiques.
