Une ville, ici, dans notre pays, en ce début de XXIème siècle. Avec son centre commercial, ses rues, ses bancs, ses voitures, ses cités, ses quartiers pavillonnaires… Avec ses habitants, aussi, femmes et hommes de la « France d’en bas », comme on dit trop facilement, êtres abîmés ou fragiles qui sont là tout en rêvant, pour certains, de partir vivre ailleurs. « La langue de Mohamed est au-delà de la colère et c’est ce qui me plait dans cette fresque humaine, explique Patrick Pineau (qui monte ici sur scène aux côtés de l’auteur de la pièce et de treize autres comédiens). Sa langue a la faculté d’être proche des gens et de parler à tout le monde. Il ne parle pas de l’humain, il parle de l’humanité… » Tableau d’un monde qui doit combattre au quotidien pour exister, Jamais seul fait se traverser et se rejoindre la solidarité et la défiance, l’amitié et la solitude. Cela, en cherchant à inventer « la poésie nécessaire à faire chanter les lendemains ».
