PHILHARMONIE DE PARIS / VIOLON ET ORCHESTRE SYMPHONIQUE
Peu encore familier du monde musical français, le jeune chef anglais Jamie Phillips s’est distingué en 2012 en remportant le premier prix du concours de direction d’orchestre du Festival de Salzbourg. Dès l’année suivante, il y revenait comme chef invité. Après avoir été chef en résidence à l’Orchestre philharmonique de Los Angeles, où il fut l’assistant de Gustavo Dudamel, le jeune chef anglais est depuis juillet 2015 chef associé du prestigieux Orchestre Hallé de Manchester. Ce programme partagé entre les sublimes Danses symphoniques de Rachmaninov, le Concerto pour violon n° 2 de Prokofiev (avec Nicolas Dautricourt) et une œuvre de musique contemporaine devrait s’avérer un terrain de jeu idéal pour faire sa connaissance. Notons que le programme s’ouvrira avec la première française de Glorious Clouds, la dernière œuvre orchestrale en date de Dai Fujikura, créée le 8 septembre 2017 à Nagoya, qui témoigne de la fascination du compositeur pour la beauté changeante des nuages. A l’écoute « d’un grand tout, lointain et éphémère ».
