Après Motifs, créé en 2016, qu’il dansait main dans la main avec Marthe Krummenacher, Pierre Pontvianne poursuit son travail sur le mouvement d’un corps qui raconte. Janet on the roof aborde l’état de sidération et retrouve Marthe, danseuse sidérale et sidérante, une silhouette bleutée perdue dans la nuit. Janet on the Roof est le portrait rêveur de Marthe, un portrait sans fards, juste l’étirement de ses bras et sa gestuelle inouïe. C’est la beauté du geste de Pierre Pontvianne, une pièce sur la disparition et les glissements imperceptibles qui finissent par bouleverser notre vie. « Tout cela se produit via des modulations si complexes que nous n’en percevons pas les changements. Si bien que notre monde connaît des basculements puissants. » explique Pierre Pontvianne. Le solo plonge le spectateur dans un interstice situé entre stupeur et stupéfaction pour y dérouler une danse hypnotique. « L’horizon se trouble, le présent se tend, ce qui nous paraissait loin est déjà devant nous… »
