D’un côté une légende, de l’autre une jeune fille banale. Entre les deux, la musique, et la voix de l’une qui donne à l’autre le désir et la force de chanter à son tour. En racontant sa Nina Simone, Chloé Lacan explore le lien que l’on tisse avec les artistes qui traversent nos vies, les éclairent, les guident et parfois les consolent. « J’avais reçu, comme une gifle, cette voix au couteau, cette colère brute, cette musique nourrie de mélancolie et de rage, de force et de fragilité, à l’âge où, moi-même, je découvrais mes propres contradictions. » dit Chloé Lacan, qui a choisi de plonger dans l’œuvre de cette artiste au cœur rugueux avec le multi-instrumentiste Nicolas Cloche.
Du rouge au bleu
« Sur le papier, tout nous sépare : l’époque, le pays, la couleur de peau, la lutte, le caractère, la tessiture même et pourtant, j’ai puisé à cette différence bien plus que l’envie de faire de la musique : sans doute la force de devenir et d’accepter qui je suis. » dit Chloé Lacan, qui passe de l’effervescence à l’émotion langoureuse, du son acoustique au son amplifié, de l’oratorio dénudé au concert débridé pour raconter un commun chemin, de l’innocence de l’enfance à la maturité de la prise de conscience politique. Musique et théâtre se mêlent pour une traversée éclectique et sensible où le rouge tend vers le bleu.
