BOULOGNE-BILLANCOURT / JAZZ
Le magnifique auditorium de la Seine Musicale, aux proportions et acoustiques parfaites pour le jazz, affiche en novembre trois concerts de choc. Le Cross Currents Trio et ses trois géants ouvrent le feu avec un jazz contemporain aux résonnances indiennes délivré par Chris Potter (saxophone), Dave Holland (contrebasse) et Zakir Hussain (tablas, percussions). Un groupe imaginé par Hussain, dans la lointaine continuité de son légendaire Shakti en tandem avec John McLaughlin, qui vient de signer avec « Good Hope » son tout premier album (le 16/11). Egalement au programme, à suivre : un mano a mano à distance lors de la même soirée entre deux générations de pianistes américains : le légendaire Kenny Barron, partenaire historique de Dizzy Gillespie ou Stan Getz (parmi tant d’autres), en solo, puis Jason Moran, de trente ans son cadet, de retour avec son mémorable trio du début des années 2000 composé de Tarus Mateen à la contrebasse et Nasheet Waits à la batterie (le 18/11) ; et enfin la rencontre intrigante et forcément prometteuse du pianiste et compositeur Tigran Hamasyan (et son trio) avec l’Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg dirigé par Teddy Abrams (le 23/11).
