Un des festivals « catégorie poids lourd » de l’été musical. Accueillie sur quatre scènes différentes, dont avant tout celle majestueuse du Théâtre Antique, la programmation de la trentième édition de « Jazz à Vienne » a de quoi impressionner : 160 concerts, 90.000 spectateurs, 2000 musiciens et des stars comme s’il en pleuvait ! « Pour cette trentième, le thème de la programmation sera l’art vocal. Cet art vocal noir américain qui est peut-être le seul héritage des origines africaines de ce peuple déplacé par l’esclavage, nous le célébrerons avec les divas qui constitueront une grande partie de la programmation : Norah, Dee Dee, Diana, Liz, Angélique, China. Les voix masculines s’aventureront aux frontières du jazz : Joe Coker, Elvis Costello, Paolo Conte, Carlinhos Brown, BobbyMcFerrin. Et nous n’oublierons pas l’art de "vocaliser en groupe" avec Manhattan Transfer » résume Jean-Paul Boutellier, directeur du festival.
