La souffrance et l’exaltation, la tactique et l’improvisation, la maîtrise et le génie de l’envolée incandescente, l’imprévisible et le sens de l’harmonie, le punch et le swing : la rencontre entre le jazz et la boxe sonne comme une évidence pour qui aime ces deux arts populaires nés de la confrontation de l’homme avec l’âpreté de l’existence. Tel est le cas de Henri Carballido qui provoque la rencontre entre « deux poids lourds du jazz » passionnés de boxe, Daniel Humair et Michel Portal, et les mots de Freddy Saïd Skouma, star mythique des rings dans les années 80, repris en dialogue par les strophes de Timothée de Fombelle. Aux racines de la révolte et de l’espoir, « entre lumière blanche et pénombre enfumée », le jazz et la boxe composent, improvisent et se répondent en un spectacle percutant et énergique où le corps, le verbe et la musique communient dans la puissance et l’émotion de leurs effets.
