On se souvient que Nicoletta, « pucière » de longue date, fut l’heureuse marraine d’une précédente édition du Jazz Musette des Puces. Tout comme la chanteuse Chimène Badi qui endossa les habits de la bonne fée l’année suivante. En 2016, retour aux fondamentaux puisque le parrain a pour nom Marcel Azzola, « qui a fait de l’accordéon le complice de nos joies et nos peines », souligne Serge Malik, qui fut le cofondateur de ce rendez-vous avec Didier Lockwood. Le choix de tels soutiens de renom traduit l’ambition de ce festival pas comme les autres : trois jours pour fêter l’esprit qui swingue et fait valser jusqu’à pas d’heure, et encore plus de raisons de faire se croiser les générations et les publics. Amateurs chevronnés et curieux néophytes peuvent se retrouver dans une programmation volontairement ouverte à tous les styles. D’autant qu’ici tout est gratuit : du minuscule bistrot au grand concert du samedi soir, le principe est l’un des vecteurs de la réussite de ce raout qui depuis 2005 a permis de remettre en jeu cette mémoire toujours active, celle d’un territoire, le Marché aux Puces, où l’on pouvait croiser les as du swing musette, les cracks du jazz manouche et les chanteuses de rue.
