C’est Xavier Prévost, éminente personnalité du jazz de la grande Maison aux bonnes ondes et ondulations de fréquences, qui est l’instigateur de ces concerts. Lesquels sont diffusés dans les semaines qui suivent dans son émission, « Le bleu, la nuit », mardi de 23h à 1h sur France Musique. « En programmant ses concerts au plus près d’une actualité ondoyante, "Jazz sur le vif" s’efforce de refléter l’émergence de nouveaux projets, et l’urgence d’une musique qui, plus qu’aucune autre peut-être, s’exprime "sur le vif". » On ne saurait le contredire avec le programme concocté pour février. Le samedi 14, l’intime duo piano-voix Ease of Sunrise sera suivi par le plus turbulent quartette Les Temps changent, soit la réunion de fortes personnalités du jazz actuel : le saxophoniste François Corneloup, la contrebassiste Hélène Labarrière, le guitariste Hasse Poulsen et le batteur Christophe Marguet. Pour le 28, le trio du pianiste Laurent Courthaliac, rigoureux relecteur de la tradition, précèdera le quartette de Doudou Gouirand, saxophoniste élevé aux free sons et branché depuis par le swing en version mandingue… Tout comme son ami Jean-Jacques Avenel, à la contrebasse ce soir.
