Après cinq premières représentations triomphales et à guichets fermés début janvier, « Jazzy Poppins » fait déjà son retour. Le point de départ du projet est l’envie de faire revivre sur scène les arrangements de la main de Duke Ellington et surtout Billy Strayhorn d’un disque consacré aux chansons du film Mary Poppins. « En septembre 1964, dix jours seulement après la sortie du film Mary Poppins, Duke Ellington enregistre les versions instrumentales des 12 chansons des frères Sherman, dans une atmosphère raffinée et terriblement swinguante. Le charme de cette musique fait toujours référence aujourd’hui. J’ai souhaité projeter l’album « Duke Ellington plays Mary Poppins » dans un spectacle familial, prétexte à faire découvrir le jazz au jeune public, avec pour la première fois les chansons en français sur les versions jazz. » explique Mignard. Le spectacle très interactif est mis en scène par Hervé Devolder et porté par la rayonnante comédienne et chanteuse Sophie Kaufmann et même un joueur de claquettes, l’excellent Fabien Ruiz.
