« Je me souviens que quand j’allais en vacances, quand on me demandait d’où je venais, je disais des Deux-Sèvres, et personne ne savait jamais où c’était. (…) Je me souviens qu’une année, le lac de Terves était entièrement gelé, et on avait fait du vélo et une partie de foot dessus. (…) Je me souviens que Valéry Giscard d’Estaing n’a accordé la grâce à aucun condamné à mort quand il était président… » Après Trapèze et Furie, l’auteur et comédien Jérôme Rouger signe Je me souviens, prolongeant ainsi ses questionnements sur la construction de l’individu, sur le rapport à l’autre et à l’enfance, sur « les systèmes pouvant être à la fois exaltateurs et broyeurs d’identité ». Construit autour de morceaux de quotidiens issus d’une période comprise entre 1975 et 1988, ce spectacle cherche à mettre en relation grande Histoire et petite histoire, mémoire collective et mémoire individuelle.
Faire ressentir la malice et la jubilation de l’enfance
Cela, par le biais d’une « proposition accumulative » liant informations factuelles et photographies projetées en fond de scène. « Ces photographies ne sont pas directement illustratives de ce qui se dit à l’oral, explique Jérôme Rouger. Par leur aspect de décalage ou de contre-emploi, elles appuient le texte ou produisent un sens nouveau, offrant ainsi une seconde lecture du spectacle. Une grosse partie du travail d’écriture fut d’ailleurs d’élaborer cet écart entre ce qui est dit et ce que l’on voit à l’écran. » Envoyées directement par le comédien depuis un ordinateur placé sur scène, ces images confèrent à Je me souviens des aspects de bricolage moderne. Un bricolage qui vise à faire ressentir au public la malice et la jubilation de l’enfance, une forme de poésie humoristique liée au plaisir d’être, à un rapport très concret au présent.
