Créée en janvier 2009, basée dans le XVIIIème arrondissement de Paris, la compagnie de L’Astre rassemble treize artistes (pour la plupart diplômés du cours Florent) ayant « décidé d’unir leurs compétences et leur vitalité autour d’une structure commune, véritable laboratoire de recherche artistique. » Pour cette nouvelle édition du festival d’Avignon off, les membres de ce collectif ont décidé de présenter deux spectacles en alternance. Le premier, L’Amour de Phèdre de Sarah Kane, est une version contemporaine et radicale du mythe de Phèdre dans laquelle l’auteur britannique éclaire la complexité des rapports bourreau/victime et dénonce les excès du monde moderne. Le second, Je suis Ophélie, mêle Hamlet de William Shakespeare, Hamlet-machine de Heiner Müller et des extraits d’entretiens donnés par le dramaturge allemand de 1991 à 1995. « Je suis Ophélie est un spectacle explosif et décalé, où la scène devient le lieu d’un questionnement général sur le théâtre et sur sa fabrication, explique Florence Wagner. Aux côtés de William Astre, Isabelle Coste et Christophe Samocki, la comédienne et metteure en scène interprète le rôle d’Ophélie, personnage qu’elle juge « trop souvent cantonné à une figure romantique de victime sacrificielle » et auquel elle souhaite redonner « sa place et sa dignité de femme ».
