Avec Je t’appelle de Paris, le comédien burkinabé Moussa Sanou ne réécrit pas ses Lettres Persanes à la façon de Montesquieu… Le principe en est pourtant le même – un étranger découvre l’étrangeté de Paris et de ses Parisiens -, l’étonnement et sa cascade de surprises permettent de présenter une vision originale des choses vues, et la référence constante au lieu africain Bobo Dioulasso garantit l’authenticité de celui qui appelle au téléphone. Pour ses yeux fantastiquement agrandis, Paris est tout en étages et il n’y a pas de case. L’efficacité de la critique souvent très sévère à l’encontre de la fracture Nord/Sud s’en trouve décuplée malgré la fantaisie et l’apparence de bonhomie dont use l’acteur africain au corps souple et dansé, au verbe gourmand et au rire immédiat et dévastateur. Les messages sont spontanés et racontent dans un désordre bon enfant les émerveillements mi-figue mi-raisin que provoque le paysage insolite, humain et urbain de la capitale : « À Paris, tous les blancs se ressemblent. » En décrivant ce qu’il voit, le narrateur transmet une vision étrangère qui devient déroutante pour les Français autant que pour les Africains. À la belle santé de Moussa Sanou dont la stratégie personnelle pour sa famille restée au pays est de vanter les mérites de la ville lumière, le comédien Mamadou Koussé donne la réplique, stature haute et personnalité réservée.
Joie corrosive
En Afrique, on demande son chemin aux passants mais à Paris, il faut savoir lire les cartes de métro. Un rendez-vous avec Jean-Louis Martinelli au Théâtre Nanterre-Amandiers (clin d’œil amusé) est honoré avec deux heures de retard, une broutille pour nos deux baroudeurs acteurs de théâtre : « À Paris, le temps n’a pas le temps. » EtMoussa Sanou ne se contente pas de jouer un Candide Burkinabé, il imite aussi le toubab – le Blanc – qui, depuis Bobo Dioulasso, appelle son épouse en France pour rendre compte de son exil professionnel exotique : « La population est très chaleureuse, ils se connaissent tous entre eux, ce qui fait que forcément un de leurs amis te connaît. » La misère de la terre semble rassemblée sur le sol burkinabé quand on voit les enfants mendier ou une boutique de commerce de détail contenue dans une boîte à chaussures sur un étal. Pour le duo d’acteurs, le théâtre fait sens et laisse des empreintes contre l’oubli. Quand il faudrait pleurer, on rit de la disparité des conditions d’un continent à l’autre : « Dieu est grand, mais le Blanc n’est pas petit ! » La joie sait être corrosive dans cet excellent numéro.
