« Une comédie féroce des dévastations familiales contemporaines, qu’on puisse y voir un peu plus clair avant qu’après dans nos inhumanités et nos mensonges, nos traîtrises et nos hypocrisies, nos malheurs. » Voilà comment Pierre Notte, avec son art habituel de la formule incisive et sans fard, résume la pièce qu’il a écrite, à l’initiative de la comédienne Pauline Chagne, en reprenant le motif de son précédent opus, Moi aussi je suis Catherine Deneuve. La mère, les enfants, le père absent : gens très ordinaires et dingues résolus. La mère cuisine, le fils se tait, une fille se scarifie et l’autre décide de se prendre pour Barbara : chacun sa voie pour sortir de l’enfer familial !
Avec Barbara, sans Barbara
Il ne s’agit pas d’un spectacle sur Barbara, mais du récit du voyage intérieur de Geneviève pour échapper à la médiocrité de son quotidien. « Syndrome bien contemporain que de s’inventer des histoires » remarque le metteur en scène Jean-Charles Mouveaux, qui guide Pauline Chagne et le reste de la troupe dans les méandres de la vie de Geneviève, qui se rêve en longue dame brune. Les admirateurs de la chanteuse le confirmeront sans peine et prendront plaisir à la réentendre, puisque tous ont tendance à croire que Barbara a écrit pour eux, même s’ils ne l’avouent pas toujours : nous sommes tous Barbara !
