Après une échappée lyrique et mozartienne à la faveur d’une nouvelle production de Così fan tutte (voir brève), Jean-Christophe Spinosi et l’Ensemble Matheus reviennent, toujours au Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, mais cette fois sur la scène et non plus dans la fosse, célébrer leur amour de Vivaldi. C’est en effet au compositeur vénitien que les noms du chef et de l’ensemble sont le plus intimement associés depuis le succès rencontré sur scène, au concert et au disque par La Verità in cimento, Orlando furioso et autre Griselda. Point de théâtre ici, mais toujours, dans l’œuvre religieuse, cette verve vivaldienne que Jean-Christophe Spinosi porte avec ferveur. Comme pour le récent enregistrement, chez Naïve, des mêmes partitions (le célèbre Stabat Mater et le psaume Nisi Dominus), les fidèles Philippe Jaroussky (contre-ténor) et Marie-Nicole Lemieux (contralto) sont de la partie.
