Jean-Claude Pennetier est l’un de ces artistes vers lesquels il faut toujours retourner pour s’abreuver à la source fraîche de la musique, pour être en prise directe avec l’essence même des œuvres. Le 28 mai 2018, il donnait, au Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, l’un de ces récitals qui laissent un souvenir indélébile à ceux qui y assistent. Au programme, sonates de Mozart et la Sonate en sol majeur D 894 de Schubert, celle qui fait toucher du doigt « la conscience de la mort qui rend la vie si forte » selon le mot même du pianiste. Cette fois-ci, Pennetier va associer Beethoven et Fauré, compositeur qui évolua jusqu’à ce style dépouillé, presque abstrait, que le pianiste connaît si parfaitement qu’il sait en dénouer le cheminement harmonique. De Beethoven il jouera les Sonates op. 101 et 109, de Gabriel Fauré des nocturnes, préludes et barcarolles, ainsi que le grand Thème et Variations. Autant vous dire qu’on y sera !
