Le nouvel et treizième album du grand harmoniciste français est un hymne à la simplicité et la vérité d’une musique essentielle et belle qui l’habite depuis toujours : le Blues. Pour la circonstance, il s’inspire de la philosophie minimaliste de Dr John (« Keep That Music Simple… »), retrouve son complice guitariste Manu Galvin et invite deux chanteurs américains magnifiques qui connaissent l’histoire et à qui on n’en raconte pas : Michael Robinson, from Chicago, et Ron Smyth, formé à l’école du gospel et passé par le Reggae… « La musique noire a été la plus grande claque culturelle des cent dernières années : non seulement une nouvelle lecture des timbres, des rythmes et des harmonies mais plus largement une nouvelle manière de considérer l’expression et la relation à l’autre. Toute relation constructive est fondée sur la considération. Ce que réclamaient en d’autres termes Otis et surtout Aretha : R.E.S.P.E.C.T… C’est généralement ce qui manque le plus dans une société qui ne va pas bien. » confie Milteau.
