Après deux soirées de « jazzpoem » en complicité avec Enzo Cormann et Jean-Marie Machado (les 3 et 4 mars), « Pado » poursuit son séjour dans la salle des hauts de Ménilmontant et son retour au premier plan de l’actualité musicale. A la tête d’un septet supérieur, il revient aujourd’hui en toute simplicité et liberté au monde des standards, et dans le même temps à l’euphorie et la science d’improviser dans ce terreau commun aux jazzmen du monde entier. Fidèle en amour, Padovani (saxophone ténor et soprano) se laisse particulièrement inspirer et aspirer par le jazz réinventé à New-York au tournant des années 60. « Quelques grandes figures de cette époque m’ont profondément marqué : Charles Mingus, John Coltrane, Oliver Nelson, Ornette Coleman et Eric Dolphy bien sûr. Notre projet est de donner à entendre l’influence de ce creuset artistique particulièrement fécond sur les musiques actuelles, tenter, modestement, de redonner à ces “maîtres” leur actualité dans le paysage musical contemporain » confie-t-il. Avec Bruno Wilhelm (saxophones alto et soprano), Claudia Solal (voix), Paul Brousseau (claviers, électroniques), David Chevallier (guitares), Frédéric Monino (basse) et François Laizeau (batterie).
