Chinese reggae, Reel’nroll et Tangrock, ces trois appellations au programme de ce soir rappellent combien le pianiste Jean-Marie Machado est un incontrôlable. Entendez un musicien borderline, aux frontières de toutes les musiques, aussi à l’aise dans l’univers classique où il a grandi que dans le monde du jazz où il s’est émancipé des doctes leçons. Depuis plus de vingt ans, il a choisi de ne plus choisir, ou plutôt de suivre le fil de ses désirs, jouant aussi bien avec Nana Vasconcelos qu’Antonio Placer. C’est encore à ceux-là, à ses rêves à demi éveillés sujets aux songes les plus étranges, auxquels il nous convie avec cette fête nocturne intitulée « Danzas ». Encore une fois, le jazz entre avant tout dans la danse du bassin méditerranéen. Du coup, le swing sarabande et les improvisations font dans la tarentelle. Entre instants chavirants et plages plus apaiséesl, ce voyage vogue même au-delà, entre deux eaux, entre la mer de Chine et celle des Caraïbes, entre les effluves de tango et les docks du rock comme indiqué d’emblée…
