TRIO / LES LILAS
Aucun amateur de jazz contemporain ne peut ignorer la personnalité de Jean-Marie Machado, pianiste, compositeur et leader de multiples projets parmi les plus audacieux et savoureux de notre vie musicale. Mais on a pu oublier, ou pour les plus jeunes, on peut ignorer que Jean-Marie Machado a surgi sur la scène française, il y a 25 ans, au tournant des années 80-90, avec un trio piano-basse-batterie dont le succès public et critique fut phénoménal, accumulant les concerts, les récompenses et les éloges de la presse. Le triangle que composait le Trio Machado comprenait à l’époque les frères François et Louis Moutin (contrebasse et batterie). Depuis, Machado a multiplié les projets très différents (comme son grand orchestre Danzas ou son duo avec Dave Liebman) mais l’idée est en train de germer en lui de revenir à cette formule emblématique du trio piano-contrebasse-batterie. Avant un nouvel enregistrement en préparation, un concert vient réamorcer sur la pointe des pieds la légende du Trio Machado, avec la complicité de nouveaux compères : l’allemand Henning Sieverts à la contrebasse et François Merville, vieille connaissance, à la batterie. Parions que ce concert aux Lilas sera plein à craquer….
