OPERA EN VERSION DE CONCERT / THEATRE DES CHAMPS ELYSEES
Il serait injuste de réduire L’Enlèvement au sérail à une simple « turquerie ». Pacha et janissaires sont bien présents, sur fond de piccolo et percussions. Mais au-delà du folklore, cet opéra, qui affirme la création d’un genre lyrique germanique (le singspiel), offre des sommets de poésie et de virtuosité vocale. Jérémie Rhorer a dirigé L’Enlèvement cet été au Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, avec le Freiburger barockorchester. Au Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, il retrouve son ensemble, Le Cercle de l’harmonie, désormais sans son violon solo historique Julien Chauvin, qui vient de monter son propre ensemble, Le Concert de la Loge olympique. La distribution vocale est aux petits oignons (Jane Archibald, Norman Reinhardt), et les rares parties chorales sont tenues par le remarquable chœur Aedes.
