« L’opéra a toujours été mon but » déclare l’ex-chanteur devenu chef à temps plein, fondateur et directeur musical des Paladins. Le voilà comblé puisque deux nouvelles productions lyriques sont au cœur de son actualité : Le Couronnement de Poppée dans une mise en scène de Christophe Rauck et La Fausse Magie, opéra-comique de Grétry bientôt à l’affiche à Metz, Reims et Rennes. « Aujourd’hui, nous sommes en train de faire ce pour quoi Les Paladins ont été fondés : l’opéra mais aussi le théâtre, tout ce qui est scénique, dramatique, comme le rapport entre voix chantée et parlée » insiste Correas. « La musique italienne du XVIIe siècle et l’opéra comique de la fin du XVIIIe siècle m’intéressent particulièrement, souligne-t-il. Ils ont pour point commun un traitement de la voix qui va au-delà du chant. Chez Monteverdi, je cherche à rendre les passages du parlé au chanté avec toutes les gradations possibles. Ce n’est pas toujours facile pour les chanteurs mais c’est aussi très excitant. Je veux aller jusqu’au point où l’on se demande si c’est de l’opéra ou du théâtre chanté… ». A noter enfin : La Servante Maîtresse de Pergolèse, dirigée par Correas et mise en scène par Vincent Vittoz, poursuit aussi sa tournée, marquée une prochaine date le 13 février à 20h45 au Théâtre Claude Debussy de Maisons-Alfort.

La Fausse Magie les 5 et 7 mars à l’Opéra Théâtre de Metz, le 12 mars au Grand Théâtre de Reims, du 20 au 22 mars à l’Opéra de Rennes.
