PERFORMANCE ARTISTIQUE ET JONGLEE / CABARET SAUVAGE
Circassien fou de jazz, Jérôme Thomas a collaboré avec les chantres de l’inventivité improvisatrice, de Bernard Lubat à Alfred Spirli, orientant depuis 25 ans sa pratique vers des performances hybrides, basées sur la mise en scène et l’improvisation. Son duo avec l’accordéoniste et compositeur Jean-François Baëz (l’ARFI, Baron Samedi…) existe depuis l’an 2000 : un dialogue entre l’instrument et le corps, entre la musique et les manipulations d’objets.
Quand la virtuosité permet l’impro
Les balles, danseuses et percussions, frappent le sol. Le corps mime, danse. L’accordéon suit ou guide, enveloppe, rattrape, déstabilise… Chacun reçoit et donne. Le concert se jongle et se joue, la complicité entre les deux artistes leur permettant de dérouler intuitivement le fil du duo, avec l’aplomb de leurs habitudes autant que l’autorisation de l’impromptu. Ils déploient cette capacité de nous surprendre grâce à une maîtrise technique parfaite et une créativité puissante, sous les lumières de Bernard Revel.
