La particularité et la fierté du festival Jeunes Zé Jolie est d’être un festival de résidences. Des résidences de quinze jours à trois semaines avant création dans le cadre du festival : « il ne s’agit pas pour ce festival de seulement faire son marché » remarque Frédéric Fachena, codirecteur artistique du Collectif 12, organisateur de la manifestation, « mais d’accompagner les compagnies, de leur apporter des moyens techniques et pas seulement un espace de visibilité, et aussi d’y ajouter des espaces de débat. » La situation des compagnies émergentes est rendue d’autant plus difficile aujourd’hui que « quatre générations d’artistes sont sur le plateau » et qu’il est ardu de trouver sa place et les moyens de créer. Pendant trois jours, les compagnies associées au Collectif 12 (le T.O.C, la ktha et Klein/Léonarte) invitent le public, lors d’un parcours artistique, à découvrir des créations spécialement pensées et créées hors-les-murs, afin d’interroger concrètement l’idée de la création et d’une forme sur un territoire. Durant le festival, des moments de rencontre et de réflexion sont prévus entre professionnels de la culture (institutions, programmateurs, artistes) autour d’ateliers-discussion. Pour à la fois, et de manière féconde et dialectique, réfléchir et agir, penser et créer.
