Il était tout indiqué pour souffler un doux vent de folie à l’occasion de cet anniversaire. Né en 1982 à Ipanema, le Franco-Brésilien Joao Selva a attendu de se poser à Lyon pour faire décoller vraiment sa carrière. Sa recette met en jeu la diversité du Brésil : se percutent ainsi de nombreux styles de musiques, le tourneboulant maracatu comme le swinguant forro, la samba soul comme le funk carioca… Soit un grand mix tourné vers la danse qui permit à Navegar d’emporter en 2021 une large adhésion du public. Et ce succès fut transformé deux ans plus tard avec Passarinho, un chapelet de chansons pensées lors du confinement. C’est dans le même sillon que se positionne le duo Ireke, « la canne à sucre » en yoruba. Fraîchement signé sur Underdog, leur album Tropikadelic est tout autant une invitation à investir la piste de danse, une déclaration d’intentions comme entendu dès le premier titre Petit à petit. Afrobeat et dub y sont parmi les ingrédients de ce cocktail susceptible de mettre en jambes le public.
