FESTIVAL DE LA ROQUE D'ANTHERON
« Tchaïkovski est un compositeur que j’aime depuis longtemps. J’ai découvert sa musique pour piano lors de mes études auprès de Brigitte Engerer, qui avait elle-même connu l’influence de l’école russe de piano de son maître à Moscou, Stanislas Neuhaus. Les Saisons sont un grand cycle d’inspiration poétique. Tchaïkovski a placé en exergue de chacune des douze pièces un court poème – et j’aime relire ces textes avant de jouer l’œuvre en concert.

Il y a quelque chose de très visuel, très pictural, dans l’univers de Tchaïkovski et, pour moi, il est précieux de partir de ces éléments, qui ont contribué à provoquer la pensée musicale de Tchaïkovski. À La Roque d’Anthéron, le programme sera légèrement différent de celui que j’ai enregistré chez Mirare : en plus des Saisons, je jouerai le Thème et variations de l’op. 19, où la couleur russe est très présente, et la Berceuse en la bémol majeur, une œuvre de la fin de la vie de Tchaïkovski, qui est presque une préfiguration du jazz. »
