Voici vingt ans disparaissait Dominique Bagouet, fauché par le sida à 41 ans, laissant en héritage quelques-unes des pièces maîtresses de la danse contemporaine française. Dont Jours étranges, chorégraphie créée en 1990 sur cinq chansons de l’album des Doors, Strange Days. « Le climat de ces Strange days correspondait parfaitement au désarroi de notre adolescence qui cherchait alors, dans ce qui est devenu une sorte de mythologie, ses propres valeurs et vivait aussi d’obscurs désirs mal définis de révolte contre les normes et les codes établis. » écrivait-il à l’époque. Sensuelle et minutieuse, la danse marie ici précision de l’écriture et désir intime de chaos. Catherine Legrand et Anne-Karine Lescop, figures actives des Carnets Bagouet, ont dirigé la recréation de ces Jours étranges avec dix jeunes Rennais. Plutôt qu’une reproduction à l’identique, elles ont privilégié la fidélité au processus de création, fondé sur des improvisations avec les danseurs. Portée par la fougue adolescente, l’œuvre de Bagouet dégage toute l’énergie désemparée des illusions happées dans le tourbillon de la vie.
