A l’occasion de la sortie de son disque « Furore » (Virgin Classics) consacré à Haendel, Joyce DiDonato propose un récital à la Salle Pleyel avec Les Talens Lyriques de Christophe Rousset. On retrouvera une grande partie des airs présents sur l’enregistrement, alternant entre morceaux célèbres (comme le bouleversant « Scherza infida » d’Ariodante) et raretés. Pour ceux qui n’ont encore jamais entendu la mezzo-soprano américaine, c’est un rendez-vous à ne pas manquer. Car Joyce DiDonato possède une voix à l’intensité émotionnelle rare. Son grain vocal riche et personnel peut parfois surprendre stylistiquement dans la musique baroque. Mais on se laisse rapidement envoûter par ses graves sensuels et son legato voluptueux.
