Avec en préparation un nouveau disque avec Bojan Z, la poursuite de la tournée de son groupe Electric Biddle né à Londres et la création de son label 2birds1stone, Julien Lourau est au cœur de l’actualité. Mais la première surprise de cette rentrée devrait être la mise sur orbite de son nouveau projet – The Groove Retrievers – un combo international de 9 musiciens naviguant du funk à la musique cubaine augmenté de la chanteuse franco-haïtienne Mélissa Laveaux en invitée. Impossible de ne pas penser à l’esprit bariolé et intense de son propre Groove Gang qui fit sa gloire dans les années 90… Le groupe est né lors de la composition de la musique du film Ma révolution réalisé par Ramzi Ben Slima et habité par l’esprit de la Révolution de Jasmin. Avec entre autres le trompettiste Antoine Berjeaut, la saxophoniste Céline Bonacina, le violoniste Djasser Youssef, le batteur Jon Scott, le percussionniste Sébastien Quezada… Tout un monde voisin.
